Terms of Service

Last updated: June 13, 2026

Draft pending attorney review.

This document is a working draft. Have a licensed attorney review and adapt it to your specific business model, jurisdiction, and risk profile before treating it as a binding policy.

Agreement

By using LaunchVets (the website at launchvets.com, the newsletter, any community spaces operated by LaunchVets, and any related services), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What LaunchVets is

LaunchVets is a publication and curated resource library for veteran entrepreneurs. It provides general information about programs, grants, certifications, accelerators, and related opportunities. It does not provide legal, financial, tax, investment, or medical advice, and it is not a licensed lender, broker, attorney, accountant, or financial advisor.

Not advice

Content on LaunchVets is for informational purposes only. We make our best effort to ensure information is accurate, but program details change, eligibility rules evolve, and each business situation is different. You are responsible for verifying any program details, eligibility requirements, deadlines, and outcomes directly with the relevant agency, sponsor, lender, or program before applying or relying on the information.

Legal questions should go to a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. Tax questions should go to a licensed CPA or enrolled agent. Financial and investment decisions should be reviewed with a qualified financial advisor. Federal contracting questions should be confirmed with the contracting officer or your assigned VBOC.

The founder of LaunchVets holds a CPA license. Nothing on this site is rendered in his capacity as a CPA, no CPA-client relationship is created by your use of the site, and you should not treat website content as professional accounting or tax advice.

What you can do

You may:

  • Read, share, and link to LaunchVets content for personal and non-commercial use.
  • Subscribe to the newsletter and unsubscribe at any time.
  • Quote brief portions of articles with attribution and a link back.
  • Use the resource library to research programs and opportunities for your business.
  • Participate in community spaces (when available) in accordance with the community charter.

What you cannot do

You agree not to:

  • Copy, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of LaunchVets content without written permission.
  • Scrape, harvest, or automatically extract data from the site beyond what robots.txt permits.
  • Use LaunchVets information to impersonate a licensed professional or to mislead others about your qualifications.
  • Use the service to send unsolicited messages, post unlawful content, or violate the rights of others.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the service, our systems, or our service providers.
  • Misrepresent your veteran status, organization, or eligibility in any application or community context.
  • Use the service for purposes prohibited by U.S. export control laws or applicable sanctions.

Veteran status and community access

When the community access feature launches, verification of veteran status will be required for full participation. Misrepresentation of military service or affiliation is grounds for immediate and permanent ban from all LaunchVets services and may be reported to the appropriate authorities. We take this seriously. Real vets deserve a real community.

Content ownership

LaunchVets content (articles, guides, the assessment, the resource library structure, the brand assets, and the underlying code in any form we may release) is owned by Steven Kelly. Third-party trademarks, program logos, and references to government and private programs belong to their respective owners and are used here for descriptive purposes only.

Content you submit to LaunchVets (such as community posts, win submissions, or feedback) remains yours. By submitting, you grant LaunchVets a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and excerpt your submission in connection with the service. You can withdraw this license at any time by deleting the content or by contacting us; we will honor the request within a reasonable time, recognizing that some material may persist in archives or backups.

Third-party links and references

LaunchVets links to and references third-party programs, organizations, agencies, and services. We do not control these third parties and do not endorse, guarantee, or take responsibility for the accuracy of their content, the availability of their services, or the outcomes of their programs. Review their own terms and privacy policies before engaging.

No guarantee of outcomes

Entrepreneurship is risky. Using LaunchVets does not guarantee that you will receive any grant, contract, certification, capital, or other benefit. Use the information here as a starting point, not as a substitute for diligence on your own situation.

Disclaimer of warranties

LaunchVets is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply to the maximum extent allowed by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, LaunchVets, its founder, and any of its contractors or affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of the service. In any case, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (which, for most users, is $0 because the core service is free).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold LaunchVets harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

Termination

You can stop using LaunchVets at any time. We can terminate or restrict your access at any time for any reason, including a violation of these Terms, with or without notice. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. If you are a consumer, this clause does not deprive you of any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your state or country of residence that cannot be waived by contract.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced via the newsletter and a notice at the top of this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
